New to needlepoint? This class is the perfect place to start!

Join us at STITCH for a relaxed, hands-on introduction to needlepoint. We’ll walk you through the basics—from how to read a canvas and choose threads to threading your needle, starting and stopping, and learning the essential stitches you’ll use again and again.

No experience is needed. We’ll provide plenty of guidance so you leave feeling comfortable, confident, and ready to keep stitching on your own.

How to read and work a painted canvas

How to select the right needle and thread

How to start and end your thread

The Continental and Basketweave stitches

Tips for keeping even tension and creating a beautiful finished piece
